Teaching Spanish in Tanzania was a true pleasure. The Tanzanian students, with their talent and eagerness to learn, taught me valuable life lessons that I will always treasure in my heart. A beautiful word I learned in Swahili is “Rafiki”, which means “friend”, and in Dar es Salaam, I found friends who showed me the importance of sharing and solidarity.

During those years, my greatest satisfaction was being able to incorporate a spirit of solidarity into the teaching of Spanish and to see my students from the International Baccalaureate Program (MYP and DP) participate in different initiatives. One of the most rewarding was the collaboration between our IB international school and local community centers, through which the Spanish class students taught the Spanish language to Tanzanian students, creating a valuable cultural and human exchange.
